Padres sweep the Reds

Today was another incredible day for the San Diego Padres as they were able to sweep the Cincinnati reds. Throughout the game, MacKenzie Gore did an incredible job pitching through the fifth inning allowing five hits including a single to Tommy Pham in the first inning. Vladimir Gutierrez, who pitches for the Reds, pitched an excellent game through the fourth inning allowing two hits including a two run home run to Jurckison Profar in the fourth inning. Trent Grisham is back in the lineup after being sick for the last couple days which is huge since he is one of the best outfielders the padres have ever had. After the fourth inning, the Reds used their bullpen that did a wonderful job allowing four hits including a solo home run to Ha-Seong Kim in the seventh inning. During the fifth inning, the Padres used their bullpen that did a marvelous job allowing a single to Colin Moran in the seventh inning. In the ninth inning, Dinelson Lament came into the game to relieve the Padres bullpen as they were able to crush the Reds 6-0.

Personally, I’m very excited for what the future has in store for the Padres since they have been playing their absolute best the past few games. Once Jake Cronenworth and Grisham improve offensively, the Padres will benefit significantly because they are both incredible hitters and have what it takes to keep the Padres in the playoff picture. Hopefully the Padres continue playing their best so that they make it to the playoffs in October for the fans to enjoy watching at Petco Park.
