Baseball adventures with my dad

On Tuesday night, My dad and I went to watch the San Diego Padres play the Arizona Dimond-Backs at Petco Park. What a fun game it was since I got to be up on the Jumbotron which was the highlight of my night. Throughout the game, Sean Manaea did a phenomenal job pitching through the sixth inning allowing four hits including an inside the park two run homer to Jordan Luplow in the third inning. During the game, Zac Gallen, who pitches for the D-Backs, pitched a fantastic game through the sixth inning allowing five hits including a game tying home run to Erick Hosmer in the sixth inning. After the sixth inning, the Padres used their bullpen for the rest of the game which did an outstanding job not allowing any hits to the D-Backs. In the seventh inning, the D-Backs used their bullpen for the rest of the game which did a great job pitching allowing a walk off single to Jorge Alfaro in the eleventh inning.

Personally, I think the Padres are having the best season that I’ve been able to witness without their top players Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr and proud would be considered an understatement. Unfortunately, Manny suffered a terrible ankle sprain after he tripped over first base when the Padres played the Colorado Rockies last week. Aj Preller, the General manager for the Padres, mentioned that Manny will not be going on the Injured list because he would have to be out for a minimum of ten days and Aj thought he would be healthy to come back in a few days. Hopefully Manny and Fernando will be able to rejoin the Padres within the next few weeks so that they will have a spot in the playoffs.

Sincerely,

Taylor Leonard aka Beyond the Bases.
