As of today, Padres superstar Fernando Tatis Jr will make his long awaited debut from having a injury along with an 80 game suspension last season.

Throughout his career, he has played a significant role for the padres and an inspiration to youth baseball players. Not only that, but Tatis Jr is one of the best short stops in Major League Baseball history.

In 2020, Tatis Jr won the Silver Slugger Award as he led the Padres to the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. During the season, he had a .277 Batting Average and .366 On-Base Percentage while leading the Padres with 11 Stolen Bases. He also was ranked number four in Major League Baseball with 17 home runs.

The following year, Tatis Jr was nominated in his first MLB All-Star game along with his teammate Jake Cronenworth. Tatis Jr had quite the season with the Padres having an .677 Slugging Percentage and .975 On-Base plus Slugging Percentage. He also lead the Major League Baseball yet again with 42 home runs.

Personally, I’m really excited to watch him play on the field this season and will definitely use hit bat to help our offense that has been struggling the past week. Will he be booed during his first game back at Petco Park? Due to his suspension, Padres fans have mixed feelings, but with the amount of talent he will bring to the team I’m sure the crowd will welcome him with open arms.

Congratulations to Tatis Jr with the outstanding career he has had the past couple of years and wish him nothing but the best with the rest of his career with the Padres.
