Thank You Bob Melvin

Wow, this is probably one of the hardest posts to write because of how much I loved Bob Melvin but unfortunately, Melvin accepted a job offer by the San Fransisco Giants to be their manager next season.

I first want to thank Melvin for his time with us because if it wasn’t for him we would have never made it to the post season last year and come close to the wild card this season. Melvin was so loved here in San Diego for his leadership on the field and the fact that he never gave up on the team when we were struggling.

As much pain that I’m experiencing, Melvin deserves the absolute best and will always be there to support him wherever he goes. Prior to becoming manager of the Padres, he grew up in the bay area and played for the Giants for three seasons in 1986-1988 so his decision for wanting to manage the Giants makes sense.

But let me tell you, Padres fans are beyond upset with this decision because he was one of the best managers we have ever had after Bruce Bochy. Aj Preller the General Manager for the Padres made a terrible mistake yet again allowing the Giants to interview Melvin and I hope Preller understands how this will effect not only our future but his career with the Padres.

Bo Mel, best of luck in San Fransisco and wish you the absolute best for the rest of your career. You will be dearly missed by Padres fans and will never forget the unforgettable memories that I’ve been able to create because of your help guiding our team.
