Scherzer Makes History

Sunday was an historic day in baseball as the San Diego Padres played the LA Dodgers. What an exiting day it was for the Dodgers and their fans. Blake Snell, who pitches for the Padres, took himself out of the game after facing 2 batters. Throughout the game, the Padres bullpen struggled and gave up eight hits including three home runs to Justin Turner, Mookie Betts, and Cory Seager. Max Scherzer, who plays for the Dodgers, pitched a no hitter until giving up a double to Eric Hosmer in the eigth inning. He struck out 11 batters extending his career total to 3,000 strike outs. Only 19 pitchers in baseball history threw more than 3,000 strike outs. Congratulations Max on that incredible accomplishment. The Padres pitching staff ended up giving up five more runs including a double to Max Muncy during the 7th inning. Personally, I think the Padres need to do better offensively if they want to stay in the wild card hunt.
