Unfortunately, the San Diego Padres are out of the postseason and their season is coming to a close. What an exciting season it has been for the Padres and their fans. During the offseason, the Padres acquired three new pitchers to the starting rotation Blake Snell, Yu Darvish, and Joe Musgrove. Throughout the first three months, the Padres started strong winning 53 games out of 90 games. The Padres pitching staff did phenomenal job throwing strikeouts including a no-hitter by Joe Musgrove. Congratulations Musgrove on that amazing accomplishment. Fernando Tatis Jr was a super star making plays on the field and hit 41 home runs. He was one of the top 5 players to hit over 40 home runs. Congratulations Tatis Jr on that incredible milestone. Tatis Jr represented the Padres at the All-Star game along with Jake Cronenworth, Manny Machado, and Mark Melancon. After the Allstar break, the Padres bullpen struggled since the majority of the starting rotation was on the Injured list. The Padres offense was terrible, and players had a hard time getting hits. Personally, I think the Padres need to fire their manager Jace Tingler during the offseason if they want to make it to the postseason next year. I’m excited to see what next season has in store for the Padres and can’t wait until Spring Training.
